Custom framing is more than just putting a frame around a piece of art. It is a complete design service whose goal is to display the artwork at its best in the space where it will reside. Many factors, from the style of the art itself to the decor of the room to the taste of the customer, go into the design of a custom framing project. While custom framing costs more than ready-made frames, the difference is indescribable. Each project is unique, created especially for the work, the decor, and the customer.

With our state-of-the-art inkjet printing capability, we can produce archival-grade prints from your digital images, up to 24 inches wide and a long as you'd like! Being a full-service frame shop, we can also mat and frame your print and ship it to you or your customer.

Many artists prefer to sell their artwork matted but not framed. Not only is this an economical alternative to full custom framing, it allows the artist to select mat colors to complement the artwork while allowing the customer their choice of framing options. At Baldwin Hill, we can cut mats to any specification up to 60 inches. This includes single, double, and triple mats; multiple-opening mats; circular and oval mats; non-square geometric mats; and just about anything else you can think up. We use only conservation-grade materials from Crescent and Peterboro. Other mats are available by special order.
